We Are The Egg Machine🥚

Bank Farm has been primarily an egg producing farm Since 2016

The Wanstall family have lived at Bank Farm for over 100 years. A fairly traditional farming business, with cattle, free range egg laying hens and arable crops, we try where possible to work to regenerative farming practices meaning we try and build our soil organic matter levels to ensure we are part of the solution to reversing climate change and not part of the problem.

The Egg Machine was added to the business in 2019 to enable us to sell direct to local people. Not everything is grown or made by us, but most of the items that we don’t produce come from local farms and producers. I first spotted one of these machines in Holland where I met a farmer selling strawberries and Prosecco, he couldn’t wait to tell me more about the machine and for me to sample the produce, so much so that I had to stay the night as I couldn’t drive home!

We take pride in the levels of biodiversity on the farm and continually strive to provide food and habitats for rare and endangered species. Recently we have conducted a major biodiversity study across the farm and are pleased to report that we have growing numbers of skylarks, yellow hammers, sparrows and many other species and notably 3 singing male nightingales and 4 pairs of Turtle Doves, two at-risk species of birds 🐤

If you keep an eye on our social media feeds and blogs on this website I will keep you appraised of what’s happening at Bank Farm, whether its day to day farming, new products and special offers in the machine or reports of further biodiversity we aim to keep you informed 🌱
